Today (09 Nov. 2007) marks the 18th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.
In Germany this event is commonly heralded as the day the reunification 'comes of age'.
In honour of this occasion, Korean artist Eun Sook

Lee has placed an illuminated installation entitled "Vanished Berlin Wall" opposite the Brandenburg gate, where the wall used to be. But instead of being solid and serving the purpose of
dividing, it is soft, hollow and brightly

lit from within with rods of black light, giving it a mystical feel that draws tourists and locals alike
together out of sheer curiosity. I couldn't resist - gave it a poke as well! And took a few obligatory touristy shots while i was at it.
